Mission Brief

Support the turbomachinery in testing of pump components and full assembly and support in data analysis. Take responsibility for test cases on the water test bench. 

Your Role in Our Space Mission

• Take responsibility for operating the water pump test bench. 
  o    Execute test campaigns for newly developed hardware. 
  o    Design and perform research driven test cases to improve pump efficiency and cavitation performance.
  o    Maintain Test bench CAD.
• Develop test setups for pump prototypes in CAD and manage the release of those parts.
• Support in CAD design and in manufacturing drawing releases of the turbopump assembly..
• Contribute to test campaigns for the turbopump assembly in cryogenics.
• Support in data analysis to prepare data reviews in engine testing.

Qualification Checklist 

• B.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or similar.
• Strong knowledge in turbopump design.
• Strong understanding for scalability and similarity laws for cavitating and non cavitating pump performance.
• Demonstrated experience in hands on testing, and data evaluation.
• Experience in at least one programming language, preferably python.
• Strong skills in 3D CAD programs (SolidWorks or Siemens NX preferred) and PLM systems
• Effective collaborator in multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams, organized, detail-oriented, and proactive.
• Driven and eager to learn, passionate about new space, fluent in English

Bonus Skills

• Experience in testing cryogenics.
• Thesis in turbomachinery related topic.
• Knowledge on hydrodynamic/aerodynamic design of turbomachinery components.
• Knowledge of leakage control in radial pump stages.
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
