Working student position in the Powertrain monitoring concept from September 2024

Our department is responsible for the development of innovative drive software and for the development of safety concepts on all drive control units.
In our team, 18 highly motivated and friendly colleagues are involved in the development of safety concepts for powertrain controllers, power electronics and engine control units in every drive system for Mercedes-Benz passenger car series (hybrid and electric drives).

We are looking for active help and offer exciting and varied tasks as part of a working student position. You will gain a wide-ranging insight into vehicle development with a strong vehicle focus.

These are some of the challenges you will face:

• Participation in the team's internal vehicle management and its workshop coordination
• Updating the software of the control units in the vehicle via measuring computer
• Support in the preparation of test drives and trials
• Commissioning measurement technology in the test vehicles
• Assisting with the preparation and execution of tests on development vehicles
• Planning and supervision of vehicle conversions (e.g. for testing development components)
• Planning, coordination, maintenance and commissioning of the team's own vehicle measurement technology for the eDrive
• If applicable, evaluation and analysis of vehicle measurements incl. error tracking
• If applicable, participation in process topics in the department
• If applicable, participation in the creation of various evaluation tools
• Collaboration in coordination with the departments involved (including testing and specialist departments)
• Supporting the preparation, implementation and follow-up of meetings and committees
• Collaboration in the implementation and planning of project meetings
• Working on various special projects

• Engineering degree, preferably with a focus on automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, industrial engineering, computer science or a comparable course of study
• Ideally, initial experience in dealing with vehicle measurement technology (preparation/installation/commissioning/maintenance/readout/etc.) already available
• Confident written and spoken German and English skills
• Confident handling of MS Office
• Commitment, communication and teamwork skills
• Analytical mindset and strategic, systematic way of working
• Ideally vehicle affinity and technical understanding from training and/or studies
• Driving license class B required
