Who are we
We are a team based in centered in Hamburg and connected globally, mostly across Europe and the US. You will be cooperating closely with the members of our central technology and SW engineering teams.
Background
RISC-V is an open-standard ISA, which is increasingly gaining significance in the semiconductor industry. Being a realtively young technology, there is still a great variety in the performance of HW & SW offerings. Also, new extensions to the ISA come up at a high pace, which need to be evaluated for fitness against use-cases.
Objective
We aim to establish a framework for fair and accurate comparison of compilers and architectural features of RISC-V. The aim is to have fair comparisons over a wide range of benchmarks. Based on this data, concrete technology recommendations will be given into the various engineering teams.
The focus will be on the following tasks
Addition of workloads/benchmarks to the suite
Addition of compilers/toolchains to the suite
Addition of architectural features/ISA extensions in the analysis
Continuous integration setup, dashboards for nightly regressions
Extension of data processing (python/pandas) for extraction of results
Analysis of results, drawing conclusions and distributing results to the stakeholders
