Working student position in the area of "Future Software and AI" from September 2024

In the "Innovations & Future Technologies" area, our "Future Software & AI" department develops innovative, forward-looking concepts and products for the future of Mercedes-Benz.
With user experience, software architecture, metaverse, WEB 3.0 and AI, the portfolio of our teams covers key features of our vehicles and the associated ecosystem.

The close cooperation across team boundaries enables us to realize synergies in the development of an intelligent and inspiring user experience in the vehicle, ecosystem and metaverse. Modern software and AI technologies fit in seamlessly here.

In the Future Customer Software Innovations team, we develop software innovations for all aspects of the vehicle. In addition to the seamless integration of digital customer functions, this also includes virtual experiences inside and outside the vehicle. We work closely with other specialist departments from Research and Development as well as with Group Strategy and Sales in order to coordinate and jointly pursue our visions.

These are some of the challenges you will face:

• Development and optimization of 3D models and animation in Unity
• Development and creation of animated AR/XR apps (for Apple Vision Pro)
• Implementation of user interfaces and interaction concepts
• Collaborating with designers and developers to create innovative applications
• Testing and debugging applications in Unity
• Communication with project partners from the specialist departments
• Presentations of development progress

• Degree in computer science, media informatics, game design, film design, media design, communication design, interaction design or a related course of study
• Proficient in written and spoken German and English
• Confident handling of MS Office
• Sound knowledge of working with Unity and C#
• Knowledge of VR/XR/AR apps (Xcode and Swift)
• Experience in Adobe programs (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
• Creativity and a good understanding of design and user experience
• Commitment and ability to work in a team
• Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
