Internship in the field of air conditioning development from October 2024

In the RD/KIT department, we are responsible for the development of air conditioning systems for all Mercedes-Benz Cars model series and are leaders in the areas of thermal comfort, air quality and efficiency.

The strategic shift towards electromobility opens up new opportunities and exciting challenges for our department, particularly in terms of efficiency and system design. In this dynamic environment, we are looking for employees who value personal development opportunities and varied, challenging tasks.

As part of the "System Responsibility Thermal Comfort & Air Quality New Product Projects" team, your main task will be to develop and test the system for thermal comfort and air quality for all future passenger car series and ensure its suitability for series production. This includes the development, testing and evaluation of functions that can be experienced by customers, taking into account global customer requirements and validation as part of global testing.

What you can expect:

• Support in the planning and execution of measurements to evaluate thermal comfort in the climatic wind tunnel and during test drives
• Support with data evaluation and analysis of field data
• Participation in the preparation and evaluation of maturity level requirements for the quality gates (thermal comfort and air quality)
• Support with systems engineering activities, such as the creation of system specifications and the documentation of cross-series requirements
• Collaboration in day-to-day business, e.g. in the planning and implementation of test drives

What you bring to the table:

• You are well self-organized and bring passion to the team.
• You have a general technical understanding, pronounced curiosity and a high willingness to learn.
• Ongoing Bachelor's or Master's degree with a focus on mechanical engineering, process engineering, aerospace engineering or a comparable qualification.
• Proficient in written and spoken German and English.
• Confident handling of MS Office.
• EU class B driver's license (car).
