Internship in the field of gasoline engine development exhaust gas turbocharging from October 2024

Our department is responsible for the design and mechanical development of innovative turbocharging technologies, including their testing and series release for Mercedes Benz passenger cars.

You will work closely on the entire product development process from the first rapid prototyping part to the series production unit in terms of design, testing and approval.

Your tasks in detail:

• Optimization of the test bench programs for testing exhaust gas turbochargers, both for the component and full engine test benches
• Planning support for tests on test benches and vehicles
• Intensive support of the tests on test benches and vehicles
• Evaluation and assessment of measurement data
• Root cause analysis and definition of measures in the event of anomalies
• Disassembly and diagnosis of test parts including documentation
• Preparation and follow-up of exhaust gas turbochargers for test bench and vehicle tests
• Maintenance and evaluation of documentation databases for test operations
• Independent processing of assigned work packages/orders

Degree course: Automotive engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics or a comparable degree course

Language skills: Confident written and spoken German and English skills

IT skills: Confident handling of MS Office, experience in evaluation tools (MDA, CANape, Diadem, Uniplot) is advantageous, but not a "must"

Personal skills: Open-mindedness, sense of responsibility, commitment, analytical thinking skills, communication skills, positive approach to challenges, ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Other: Class B driver's license, affinity for the product, technical understanding, knowledge of combustion engines and thermodynamics desirable, training an advantage, but not a "must"
