Student Assistant: Software engineering for robotics - Development of a model-based solution
Jetzt bewerbenStellenbeschreibung
Announcement for fields of study such as: Automation technology, computer science, mechanical engineering, software design, software engineering or comparable.
Our Robot and Assistive Systems department develops robot solutions and supporting technologies for application fields such as manufacturing, logistics, and robot-assisted living. A significant example of our work is the Care-O-bot 4 platform, a technology test bed as well as a product by one of our spin-off companies. Other examples include reconfigurable production lines in the automotive domain, and machine-to-cloud software stacks to monitor assets, drive machinery, and optimize production processes.
In the current project, our new initiative at IPA targets the easy creation of a kinematic chain of complex robotic cells or production lines from CAD design by using model-driven engineering techniques for kinematic modelling (metamodeling, DSLs, code generation, etc.). With this solution, we aim to easy assemble a kinematic chain from standardised kinematic models, allow validate kinematic chain, and easily reconfiguration of kinematic chain based on calibration at design time.
What you will do
For this project, we are looking for enthusiastic candidates that can collaborate within the team by performing task related to one of the following profiles:
- Create a standard kinematic model of an actuator from CAD
- Create a solution to calculate the relative position of any links of actuators automatically
- Graphical user interface frontend design based on language server
- Create a solution to perform calibration
What you bring to the table
- Motivation to learn and perform challenging tasks
- Creativity and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently
- Programming skills: Javascript, python, typescript (optional)
- URDF
- CAD
- SolidWorks
What you can expect
- Insight into exciting projects and topics
- Responsibility for sub-areas of projects
- Support from an experienced and motivated team
- flexible adaptation to semester workload
- Masterthesis
