The BodyTEC center bears end-to-end responsibility for the production of body parts such as side panels, doors, hoods, fenders, etc. This includes all process steps from the development of forming tools through to production in the press shop. In the interdisciplinary environment of the Toolmaking Technology Development department, topics such as metallic 3D printing for hybrid additive manufacturing of tool segments are also being investigated.
These are some of the challenges you will face:
- Collaboration in the field of additive manufacturing using laser metal deposition
- Independent execution of experiments in a practical environment and documentation of measurement data. Subsequent evaluation, validation and assessment of the measurement data
- Carrying out simulations and calculations as well as expanding existing calculation approaches through simulative modeling and transferring the findings to component-specific applications
- Sample preparation in the materials technology laboratory with subsequent metallographic examination and evaluation
- Working with doctoral students and other team members on the written preparation and documentation of results by creating graphics or presentations
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, production and manufacturing technology, materials engineering, materials science or a comparable course of study
- Confident written and spoken German and English skills
- Confident use of MS Office and experience in working with CAD/CAM
- Good knowledge of Python
- Analytical and conceptual way of thinking, ability to work in a team, structured way of working, communication skills
- Previous experience in the fields of 3D printing, welding technology and materials technology
