Your role Are you looking for a entry level role with exciting challenges around mergers & acquisitions and portfolio management? Then we're happy to receive your application! Your Tasks INVESTMENT/M&A PROCESS
- Involvement in the whole deal cycle from deal origination and M&A execution to portfolio management and potentially divestment
- Identification, analysis and valuation of potential investment fields and acquisition targets
- Development of a clear investment and value creation hypothesis
- Management of M&A processes, both for Haniel and for portfolio companies
- Preparation of internal approval papers
- Support portfolio companies in their growth ambitions and in the development of a strategy and value creation plan
- Performance monitoring and ongoing review of value creation plan execution
- Day-do-day interaction with the Portfolio Management Team and Haniels senior management
- Regular interaction with entrepreneurs and the management of portfolio companies
- Close collaboration with value accelerating experts (operational excellence, digital, sustainability, talent) within the Haniel Group
- Regular interaction with market intermediaries from banks and consulting firms
- Completed academic degree; Master in finance / business / economics or MBA equivalent preferred
- Internship or first professional experience in private equity, family offices, transaction services, consulting, and/or investment banking / M&A advisory
- Demonstrated financial acumen and analytical mind paired with business sense, i.e., ability to develop a holistic understanding of business models, business plans, value creation opportunities and operational and financial drivers of companies
- Familiar with M&A processes, i.e., buy- and sell-side execution
- Academic or internship experience in valuation / corporate finance
- First experience in commercial and operational excellence realization is a plus (e.g., pricing, procurement, organizational effectiveness, working capital reduction)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to “win hearts and mind” of management teams and other stakeholders
- Combines high impact with a high sense of urgency; energetic, intrinsically motivated, and can-do person
- Pragmatic approach when translating ideas into actions, taking accountability for results and influences with sound judgement and credibility
- High IT proficiency, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; ideally experience using financial databases
- Fluency in English and German
