As an intern in the Quality Engineering team for the Munich site of Livanova Deutschland GmbH, you will be responsible for quality control and releases of Cardiopulmonary devices, management of device history and support in non-compliance quality topics. The position will provide a broad understanding and an interconnected view of various aspects on Quality Engineering and Quality compliance in medical devices.
General Responsibilities:
- Perform Device History Record (DHR) reviews of all products for its accuracy and completeness.
- Perform visual inspection of products if designated for cosmetic or optical defects check.
- Perform a review of completeness of items for physical presence in a customer order Vs pick-slip information.
- Raise product non-conformity reports (NCR) as per designated NCR process including describing appropriately the non-conformity and support the quality engineers in NCR related activities.
- Independently drive non-conformity report activities including but not limited to conducting risk assessments, investigating root cause, and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage handling of non-conforming products under quality hold.
- Be interface with different production departments in case of clarifications over the above activities.
- Perform documentation management of the released DHRs for folder alignments, data entry for document traceability and organizing shipments to external service providers for scanning and archiving.
- Perform document upload of scanned DHRs in Electronic Document management system.
- Identify and implement process improvement solutions for DHR document management, data entry traceability and document retrieval, including to conduct solution effectiveness check.

Skills and Experience:
- Regular students of an engineering degree program who are matriculated, e.g. Medical / Mechatronic / Mechanical Engineering or a comparable study path. No prior experience needed.
- Interest in medical devices
- Strong engineering mindset and critical thinking
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- English and German skills both written and spoken.
- Analytical and conceptual skills
- Reliable, self-responsible and structured work
- Good communication and team skills
- Quality Engineering knowledge is a plus.
