Hochschule Bremen is known for its cosmopolitan attitude and doing science for practical application. With around 70 predominantly international degree programmes and innovative, forms of lifelong learning, Hochschule Bremen offers its almost 9,000 students excellent prospects for their personal development and a successful career start. With our international profile, we have held a leading position among universities of applied sciences for several decades. The improvement of study conditions and attractive working conditions are particularly important to us and are reflected in HSB's development planning.
We offer a PhD position in the interdisciplinary DFG-funded project "Bio-inspired multizonal protein scaffolds as novel cartilage model system". Due to increasing life expectancy, many patients in our ageing population suffer from cartilage defects. This requires new strategies in cartilage tissue engineering. Therefore, the aim of this project is to develop multizonal protein scaffolds from collagen and fibrinogen nanofibers and to combine them with polysaccharide hydrogels to support chondrogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells.
