Job Description Summary
We are seeking a motivated master's student or recent graduate to join the Innate Immunity group in the department of Immunology - Basel. The project will focus on biochemical and biophysical characterization of protein complexes of the complement pathway.Job Description

Major accountabilities:
As a Master’s student or recent graduate you will join a multidisciplinary group of scientists and contribute to the development of novel therapeutics to treat diseases of immune dysregulation. In the Innate Immunity group you will focus on the complement pathway, its activation, and its contribution to disease. Your primary accountabilities will be to:
Perform and interpret biochemical experiments monitoring complement pathway activation, including BIAcore SPR assays of macromolecular protein complexes.
Characterize the mechanism of action of inhibitors of the complement system.
Work with a diverse team, and present results in lab and project team meetings.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will:
Be a master's student in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biomedical sciences, Immunology or a similar discipline. We also accept applications from recent graduates without work experience after graduation. Those who have already collected work experience after graduation cannot be considered for this position.
Have wet lab experience with standard biochemical techniques (biochemical assays, Western Blotting, ELISA, etc.). Understanding of protein structure/function and experience with surface plasmon resonance (SPR)/ BIAcore and/or the complement system is desirable.
Have strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Be able to clearly present their work in team and group settings.
Languages:
Business-level English is required, additional languages are a plus.
