About the role
Are you looking for an internship that provides hands-on experience in research publishing and the chance to make connections at one of the largest publishers of education and research content?
The Springer Nature Opening Doors internship, Group Production is a paid opportunity in Germany to gain experience in research and science news publishing in our journals, books or magazines.

The successful applicant will spend up to six months within Group Production part of the Research Publishing division of Springer Nature. If selected for this internship, you will:
Learn the functions and workflows of one of the industry’s leading publishers.
Get involved in all phases of the publishing life cycle
Provide support to our staff in various departments across the group’s Production Operations
Help optimize the use of data to improve processes and automation
Work in a results-oriented and collaborative environment
Receive excellent team support and coaching on the job.

About you:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate programme, or be a recent graduate studying media technology, digital media, computer science or a similar area of study
Available to start in June 2025 for an internship of up to six months
Strong interest in research publishing
Knowledge of process optimization and workflow automation
Experience in print and online publishing formats and tools (XML, HTML, ePub)
Confident with data analysis and visualization as well as data-driven insight generation
Knowledge of programming with scripting language (Python or similar)
Fluent in English, knowledge of other languages advantageous
Have an existing right to live and work in Germany
