Intern(f/m/d) Avionics Hardware Development (Mechanical/Electronics)
Our international and agile team is looking for a highly motivated individual to join us as an Avionics Hardware Development Intern/Working Student (Mechanical/Electronics) (f/m/d). This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced aerospace environment, contributing directly to demanding prototyping efforts that support major, time-critical test campaigns. Your Tasks
- Development of Electrical/Electronic and Mechanical Components: Support the design, development, and testing of avionics hardware.
- Prototyping and Testing: Design and validate prototype hardware, including 3D-printed parts, machined components, and prototype circuits.
- Engineering Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical reports, schematics, and development documentation.
- Systems Design: Work on electrical wiring harnesses, pneumatic systems, and mechatronic subsystems for avionics applications.
- Lifecycle Management: Assist in tracking avionics hardware development from prototyping through testing and production.
- Production and Testing Support: Optimize and develop avionics hardware production and testing procedures.
- Test Procedure Development: Contribute to the creation of cost- and time-effective test methodologies.
- Collaboration with Other Teams: Work closely with systems engineering, software, and mechanical design teams to ensure hardware compatibility and reliability.
- Risk Analysis and Troubleshooting: Identify potential risks and implement solutions to improve reliability and performance.

Your Qualifications
Meeting some of these requirements will give you a strong foundation to join our team:
- Currently enrolled in a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Strong motivation to participate in New Space and contribute to cutting-edge aerospace projects.
- Technical knowledge in either Mechanical or Electrical hardware design.
- Strong communication skills to conduct technical meetings and collaborate with multiple departments.
- Hands-on experience working with avionics hardware.
- The ability to work effectively independently and under pressure within tight deadlines.
- Fluent oral and written English skills (all day-to-day activities are performed in English)
Meeting one or more of these qualifications will help determine where you can best contribute to our team:
- Experience in Aerospace Projects: Student rocketry, CubeSat/Satellite teams, or similar experience.
- Electronics System Design: Experience with schematics capture, PCB layout, circuit simulation (e.g., using Altium Designer, LTSpice).
- Mechanical Design Experience: Proficiency in CAD software (NX is preferred).
- Knowledge of Communication Buses: CAN, Ethernet, SPI, or other aerospace-relevant communication protocols.
- Experience with embedded systems: (Basic knowledge of RTOS)
- Experience with Electromechanical Systems: Working with BLDC motors, encoders, drivers, and sensors.
- Testing & Validation: Experience using oscilloscopes, DAQs, and LabVIEW (a plus) for electronic system testing.
